The Release Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release process, ensuring smooth coordination, deployment, and resolution of any issues related to lower lane and production releases. This position requires extensive experience in release management, branching strategies, and deployment processes. The Release Manager will guide and advise the teams while ensuring alignment with best practices and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Take full ownership of the Release Management activities, ensuring efficient collaboration and the timely delivery of releases.
2. Provide expert advice on addressing urgent production issues, assisting teams in determining the best approach for releases.
3. Provide guidance to teams and stakeholders on code base status and environment configurations.
4. Advise development and DevOps teams on environment usage and deployments.
5. Proficient in release branching strategies and version control using Jenkins, ensuring effective management of code versions across multiple environments.
6. Well-versed in deployment logic, including the creation of release branches and manifests via GIT.
7. Provide guidance to development teams on managing script dependencies within manifests, ensuring optimal deployment execution.
8. Perform root cause analysis for deployment issues to ensure timely resolution and system stability.
9. Advise teams on best practices on deployment processes and resolving issues.
10. Investigate past-due revocation reports, identify underlying issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
11. Prepare detailed production runbooks and lead walkthrough meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on deployment procedures.
12. Lead end-to-end production releases, ensuring flawless execution of release steps as outlined in the deployment runbook.
13. Oversee Jira MRA quality checks, providing guidance to SMs, PMs and other teams as needed on MRA-related inquiries.
14. Coordinate all activities for significant & non-significant releases, ensuring proper preparation and alignment of all teams involved.
15. Facilitate Go/No-Go decision-making processes for production releases, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
