Senior Electronics Engineer – Manufacturing & Product Development
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)
We’re looking to appoint a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team on a permanent basis. This position is centred around providing engineering support for both new and existing products as they transition into volume manufacturing with external partners. The role involves problem-solving production challenges, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and playing an active part in ongoing product development. Occasional travel to contract manufacturing facilities will be expected.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the introduction of new products into production environments, ensuring all deliverables meet RoHS, REACH, UL, and EN compliance requirements.
* Create detailed test processes, assembly documentation, and custom test equipment.
* Provide engineering support for improvements and modifications to existing product lines.
* Facilitate product transfers between manufacturing sites or regions.
* Resolve production-related issues in line with Agile/Kanban workflows — including component end-of-life challenges and reliability concerns.
* Recommend and qualify alternative components based on compliance, availability, or cost drivers.
* Produce schematics and assist with the design of test equipment and fixtures.
* Carry out supplier audits to verify regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., UL294 certification).
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction across product design or manufacturing processes.
* Work closely with Design Engineering teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFT best practices).
* Troubleshoot and resolve field-return or production-line issues related to product functionality (analog/digital).
* Support QA in managing product or safety-related escalations.
* Partner with Supply Chain teams to maintain continuity of production and avoid component shortages.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Electronics Engineer or similar role.
* Degree-qualified in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
* Proven background supporting new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up in a manufacturing setting.
* Strong hands-on troubleshooting ability with production test equipment and processes.
* Experience in First Article Inspections (FAI) and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
* Familiarity with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and alternative component selection.
* Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks: RoHS, REACH, CMRT, TSCA.
* Exposure to ISO 9001 standards is advantageous.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in both analog and digital electronics.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
* Flexibility to travel occasionally to manufacturing partners or suppliers.
What We Offer:
* A technically hands-on role within a collaborative R&D and manufacturing environment.
* Exposure to a diverse range of product development, compliance, and manufacturing projects.
* Competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package.
* Hybrid working model with flexibility and autonomy.
If your skills and experience align with this opportunity — and you’re seeking a long-term role with a focus on manufacturing, product development, and engineering problem-solving — we’d love to connect.
