Job Title: Slaughter Line Manager
This role requires full responsibility for the intake, kill, evisceration and storage of pigs and the efficient running of the slaughter line facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the slaughter line processes, carcass loading and chill operation to required productivity levels.
* Work with maintenance team to ensure uptime is achieved and plans are in place for production delivery.
* Promote root cause analysis and problem solving culture.
* Report on daily, weekly and monthly basis on activity, productivity, costs, deviations, initiatives and actions.
* Manage Animal Welfare from Livestock Vehicles through Lairage to Stunning.
* Comply with customers and regulatory requirements.
* Actively manage Slaughter Line uptime performance including Preventative Maintenance System delivery.
* Deliver efficient utilisation for raw materials.
* Liaise with onsite Regulatory representatives to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements for animal slaughter are met.
* Training and Development of staff including SOPs management, operators training.
* Maintain and review Slaughter Training Matrix; and plan and carry out appropriate training.
* Implement cost controls in relation to labour, absenteeism and resource levels.
* Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met and required standards and practices are maintained by all staff.
* Undertake Risk Management Meetings.
* Support accident Investigations and implement learnings.
* Control pig payment data collecting system including SOPs and records from Lairage to scales and Hennesy Probe operation.
* Support change management and lean management initiatives.
* Ensure Company Environmental Policy is adhered to.
* Identify problems promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution.

Requirements:
* Management experience in an animal slaughter process.
* Strong understanding of production processes and maintenances and equipment.
* Strong sense of customer service.
* Lean management and problem solving experience.
* Good organizational skills.
* People management skills and experiences.
* Financial / KPI management experience.
* Knowledge of HACCP.
* Awareness of personal responsibilities concerning H&S and Security requirements within department working areas after training.
* Undergone training in RRMS and ability to implement same.
* Ability to train operatives (ideally have undertaken recognised training delivery course).
