We now have an opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor, this is an onsite position based in County Kildare.
Responsibilities
* Develop, promote and maintain a strong, pro-active health & safety culture within the working environment.
* Build and maintain good working relationships in relation to all H&S matters.
* Ensure full compliance with National Health and Safety legislation.
* Integrate and implement health & safety strategies, programmes and plans in partnership with Group Health and Safety.
* Communicate and co-ordinate the adoption of industry best practices in health and safety.
* Assist the content expert in relation to specific safety programmes.
* Assist with internal and external audits.
* Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined safety performance indicators.
* Co-ordinate the development and implementation of health and safety programmes and initiatives designed to continually improve performance.
* Co-ordinate the investigation of incidents, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and corrective actions are implemented.
* Influence employee work practices through dialogue, relationship building and behavioural safety coaching.
* Assist and coordinate the development and delivery of safety training, workshops and awareness briefings in consultation with relevant managers and stakeholders.
* Maintain compliance with safety management system.
* Be self-motivated and open to take on new tasks and work in and learn new skills within various health & safety areas.
Qualifications
* Relevant NGQ Level 7 qualification or higher.
* Ability to work in a team with minimum direction. Self-motivator who can work on one’s own initiative.
* A thorough knowledge of EHS legislation in relation to manufacturing.
* Have excellent communication skills.
* Have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
* Have experience and knowledge of EHS Management Systems and their practical application to industry.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with good influencing and negotiation skills. A demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at management and operator levels.
* Proficient in the use of MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
* Be self-motivated and keen to build on your experience, knowledge and expertise.
