We are a well-established food production company based in the Kilkenny/Carlow area, with over 100 years of experience. We are currently seeking an Industrial/Maintenance Electrician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will work in a plant that combines state-of-the-art automated equipment with older equipment that has been automated using relays and other technologies. You will be part of a large maintenance team managed by a strong maintenance manager who will provide you with the support you need to excel in your role.
With a large workforce and an ever-growing order book, the future is looking bright for our company. We are constantly upgrading and developing our systems and equipment, and we are looking for a technical troubleshooter who enjoys being challenged and finding new ways to improve processes.
About the Role
* Provide electrical support to the operation of the manufacturing process and utility systems
* Carry out scheduled service on plant equipment
* Carry out electrical service and installation, including projects
* Responsible for the electrical installation of plant equipment and machinery on site, and diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment following schematic drawings and procedures in a safe and efficient manner
* Ensure that equipment is maintained to produce at optimum efficiency
* Carry out all planned and unplanned maintenance in a timely manner, reducing impact on production levels
* Carry out changeover activities at the expected performance level to ensure smooth transition between different product types
* Engage with the maintenance team and production management to identify performance issues and resolve them according to priority list set by the Maintenance Manager and Production Management
What We Can Offer You
This Industrial Electrician role is a shift position operating on a 2-shift cycle: 2 weeks of mornings (6am-2:30pm) followed by 2 weeks of evenings (1pm-9:30pm). The salary is €55k, plus a 15% shift allowance when on evenings, as well as a 5% pension and life assurance (4 times annual salary). As certain members of the team are approaching retirement in the next few years, there will also be opportunities to progress within the organization.
Requirements
You will be a qualified electrician from an industrial, production, or manufacturing background, and you must have the ability to read schematics and follow drawings. We are ideally looking for someone who wants a long-term role and would like to grow and develop with the business.
