Position Overview:
Our client, a leading electrical engineering contractor based in Cork, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrically Biased Contracts Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience in electrical contracting, with a focus on pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and commercial sectors. As a Contracts Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Lead and manage multiple electrical contracts across pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and commercial projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
* Contract Administration: Oversee the full life-cycle of electrical contracts, from pre-construction to completion, including tendering, procurement, cost control, and variations management.
* Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams, providing regular updates on project progress and resolving any issues promptly.
* Team Leadership: Manage a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local and international electrical standards, health & safety regulations, and industry best practices.
* Financial Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor project costs, and ensure financial targets are met while maintaining profitability.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with electrical installations and construction projects.
* Procurement: Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for electrical projects.
* Reporting: Provide detailed reports on project progress, timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators to senior management.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is an advantage.
* Experience: Proven experience in electrical contracting and project management, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and commercial projects.
* At least 5 years’ experience in a contracts management role within the electrical sector.
* Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and industry standards.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing project budgets and financial reporting.
* Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
* Leadership and team management experience.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) and ISO standards.
