We are seeking an EHS Engineer to join our Cork site, reporting to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager. This role is responsible for leading and implementing high EHS standards and influencing a proactive EHS operating culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret regulatory changes and provide guidance to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, IE Licensing, and ISO45001/ISO14001 Standard.
* Provide EHS support to the site operation, ensuring compliance with Lower Tier SEVESO and ATEX requirements.
* Perform EHS assessments and approvals of process and equipment changes.
* Maintain relationships with the EHS team, Operational Area Managers, and Functional Managers to develop and implement EHS strategies.
* Collaborate with Regulatory Authorities, external stakeholders, and local management teams.
* Identify opportunities to continuously improve the EHS operating culture.
* Contribute to site and EHS goals, Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability objectives.
* Lead audits and inspections, compile EHS metrics, and KPIs data.
* Maintain EHS systems and lead/participate in Root Cause Investigations.
* Complete Risk Assessments with area experts.
About You
* Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, minimum 3 years post-qualification experience required.
* Extensive experience in regulated manufacturing environments, preferably in Life Science or Pharmaceutical industries.
* Strong experience in chemical management systems and machine safety, as well as regulatory expertise.
* Leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and motivate colleagues.
* Possess a passion for EHS, with a drive to continuously improve performance through innovation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Competent user of Microsoft packages.
