Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Registrar to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated medical professional looking to advance their career in a dynamic teaching environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care while contributing to the education and training of junior medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and manage inpatient and outpatient care under the supervision of senior consultants.
2. Participate actively in ward rounds, clinics, and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure effective and coordinated patient management.
3. Perform diagnostic investigations and interpret results, developing timely and appropriate treatment plans.
4. Mentor and supervise junior medical staff, including interns and residents, while fostering a supportive learning environment.
5. Engage in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
6. Contribute to the education of medical students and junior doctors through lectures, tutorials, and hands-on training.
7. Participate in on-call duties as required as part of the registrar rota.
Qualifications:
1. Medical degree (MB BCh BAO or equivalent) and registration with the Medical Council of Ireland.
2. Previous experience in internal medicine or a relevant specialty is preferred.
3. Irish/UK experience is desirable.
4. Strong clinical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
6. A collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team.
