Job Title: Head of Business Assurance

Howden UK&I Retail recognises that attracting and retaining the right talent is of paramount importance to its continued success. We are looking for a Head of Business Assurance who can help refine our approach and embed a robust regime, consistent procedures, and detailed reporting and trend analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the File Review and Call Monitoring Teams to ensure objectives and BA delivery plans are met.
2. Define assurance mechanisms/controls, question sets, sampling levels, selection rationale, and tracking/reporting.
3. Drive remedial action, promoting best practice, analysing root causes, and coaching staff.
4. Define and coordinate file review and call monitoring approach to guarantee the highest standards.
5. Forecasting reviews and managing associated resources.
6. Iterative review of BA process, making recommendations for improvement.
7. Coaching staff in conjunction with line managers.
8. Manage assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required.
9. Provide updates on progress of remedial action plans.
10. Keep informed of all regulatory and legal changes impacting the role.
Knowledge/Experience:
1. Commercial awareness and focus on the application of regulation within the insurance broking industry.
2. Broad knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
3. Experience in a compliance, monitoring or audit environment is preferred.
Skills/Behaviours:
1. Strong written and oral communication skills.
2. Analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
3. Good planning, organisation, delivery and time management skills.
Qualifications:
1. Cert CII qualification (or willing to work towards).
