Newstalk is looking for a creative and driven Podcast Producer to join a new and growing team as we expand our digital audio offering. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of podcast projects spanning current affairs, lifestyle, features, and engaging talk topics.
You will collaborate with some of the country’s most experienced broadcasters and content creators, helping to shape compelling audio experiences that connect with audiences. This division is in start up mode and the role will deliver a dynamic and exciting opportunity as new projects come on stream.

What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Developing, producing, and editing high-quality podcasts from concept to publication
2. Collaborating with presenters, reporters, and editors to create engaging audio content
3. Contributing to the development of original podcast ideas and formats
4. Managing production schedules and ensuring timely editing and delivery of episodes
5. Monitoring podcast performance and adapting content strategies accordingly
6. Staying informed on trends in podcasting, audio storytelling, and audience engagement
What We’re Looking For
1. Proven experience in audio or podcast production
2. Strong editorial judgement, particularly in current affairs and talk topics
3. Excellent storytelling, scripting, and audio editing skills
4. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
5. A self-starter who can switch between managing solo projects and collaborating as part of a team
6. Familiarity with podcast platforms and analytics
7. Passion for audio content and an ear for what makes a great story
