Job Purpose:
The Financial Controller will be the finance lead at Takeda Ireland Ltd, overseeing accounting, corporate reporting, financial planning, compliance, and business support for the site.
This role requires working as a key member of the extended site leadership team, providing tactical and strategic insight and support on all financial aspects of the business.
The Financial Controller will have a solid functional reporting line into the Director, Finance, Takeda Ireland Ltd.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting
* Execute the month-end close with the Shared Services Centre team and prepare monthly financial results for the GC site.
* Prepare and file the reporting pack, including financial metrics update, with analysis and insights to key deviations for the site.
* Present monthly results to the Finance Director and Site Leadership Team.
* Engage in full balance sheet review with the Shared Services Centre team monthly.
Financial Planning and Analysis
* Partner with site leaders to complete the financial planning cycles for the GC manufacturing plant.
* Prepare the Planning slide deck with supporting schedules and file it with GMS (Global Manufacturing Services).
* Present Financial Plans to the Finance Director and Site Leadership Team.
* Assess and communicate local risks and opportunities to anticipate performance variances.
* Support the cost accountant in preparing product standard costs annually.
Business Support
* Drive financial awareness and Financial KPI delivery with local management.
* Prepare appropriate financial analysis of all deviations from plan (Operating spend, manufacturing variance, Purchasing variances, and Capital expenditure) and challenge management on all performance aspects.
* Develop and upgrade reporting structures and tools embracing digital technology and automation.
* Support the preparation of business cases to secure new product introduction and significant site investments.
Compliance and Internal Control
* Ensure compliance with all corporate guidelines and IFRS.
* Test and maintain strong internal control systems around company assets.
* Fully support all GIA and external audits on site.
Compensation and Benefits - Management Responsibility
* Analyze outputs from the payroll process relating to Grange Castle.
General Responsibilities:
* Participate fully in any cross-functional training initiatives.
* Drive and promote the corporate values of Takeda-ism within the workplace.
* Actively foster, in cooperation with other TIL staff, an ethos and culture of safety awareness where safety is accepted as an integral part of the overall business.
* Ensure that Accident Reports/Near Miss Forms are completed in a timely manner.
* Ensure timely completion of all SOP, reading, training, and assessment.
* Perform other duties as required and directed by the Director, Finance, or other Officer appointed by the Board of Directors.
Education Requirements:
* A Business Degree.
* CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification.
Relevant Experience:
* A minimum of 3-5 years of Finance Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Expert knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis.
* Able to work on modern ERP & IT systems, with experience with SAP Manufacturing Accounting (ECC6) being essential.
* Expert knowledge of cost center accounting.
Skills/Competencies:
* Strong month-end close knowledge, cost center accounting, and SAP FI knowledge.
* Be highly motivated and possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* An enquiring mind and excellent analytical skills.
* Proficient in all Microsoft tools.
* A hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Proven ability to influence at all levels within the organization.
