We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Staff Grade Physiotherapist to join our team in Kilkenny (Children's Disability Network 3).
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary Scale: €43,276 to €57,653 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments).
Annual Leave Entitlement: 32 days
Overall Purpose Of The Post: To work as a staff grade Physiotherapist, as a member of the Children's Disability Network Team in Network 3, providing a quality, evidence-based service to children and young people aged 0 - 18 years within an interdisciplinary framework and family-centred practice and to support other staff and students as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the child/young person while working in partnership with their parent/family/carer and all other relevant stakeholders to identify and achieve goals.
2. Form strong positive working relationships across all areas of the service, building on a common understanding.
3. Work in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team in the planning and delivery of services for children and young people, particularly in the development of child and family-centred planning.
4. Plan and organise individual and group caseloads, to include assessments, interventions, and diagnosis for children (0 - 18 years) with a range of significant complex needs, including physical, sensory, learning disabilities, developmental delay, and autism.
5. Demonstrate a sound understanding of administrative practice and protocol in decisions.
6. Provide therapy service to include assessment and intervention and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of complex needs.
7. Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
8. Build credibility and portray the profession/service in a positive light by being professional and well-informed.
9. Carry out vaccination of both service owners/users and staff as required.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Must hold a full driving license for within the state/jurisdiction with access to own transport in order to deliver services across a large geographical area.
2. Be eligible to work in the state and available to start immediately.
Essential Criteria:
1. A recognised validated University Degree or Diploma or an equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy.
2. Qualification approved by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy.
3. Registered, or eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
4. Requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
5. Proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
6. On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
7. Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
8. Valid driving licence for within the state/jurisdiction with access to own transport in order to deliver services across a large geographical area.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Previous experience in the area of disability.
2. Experience of working with children and families in a community-based setting.
3. Broad knowledge of Enable Ireland Services.
4. Broad knowledge of the Progressing Disability Services for children and young people programme.
5. Experience in conducting Assessment of Need assessments.
6. Experience with Physiotherapy Caseload Management.
7. Experience in the use of orthotics.
