Senior Principal Accountancy Division at Brightwater
My client is an established 3 partner-chartered accountancy firm based in Ashbourne, Co Meath. With an impressive database of clients, they have been providing quality-chartered accountancy services for over 30 years, with a broad range of clients both in terms of audit, non-audit, sole trader etc. and in terms of industry/sector type.
Due to rapid growth, they are looking to add to their team a qualified Accountant who wants to kickstart their career with a progressive and innovative firm.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Responsible for the management of a portfolio of clients.
* Assist with the onboarding accounting process for new clients.
* Preparation of financial statements for companies and individuals, to completion.
* Preparation and completion of audit financial statements.
* Advisory work including due diligence, valuations, business plans etc.
* Preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and companies.
* Investigate all issues on assignments to arrive at a solution or proposal.
* Prepare technical briefs and checklists for staff and clients.
* Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients.
* Work with colleagues, sharing workloads through accounting deadlines.
* Recommend any improvements in procedures etc. to improve efficiency of completing tasks.
* Mentoring and developing junior members of staff.
* Preparation of VAT, RCT & PAYE/PRSI returns.
* Preparation of bank, debtors and creditors reconciliation.
* Researching and resolving technical queries from clients.
* Reviewing financial statements.
* Preparation and submission of CT1 and IXBRLs.
Qualifications & Experience:
* 1+ years’ Qualified Accountant with practice experience.
* Compliance with professional body's CPD requirements.
* The ability to work to targets and deadlines.
* Ability to work on your own initiative.
* Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients.
* Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working on own initiative with the ability to plan and control workload.
* Ability to work under time pressure and to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Excel (advanced level preferred).
* Experience with database accounting and management reporting systems.
* Proficient in numerous accounting software packages; Sage, Thesaurus, CCH, etc.
