Job Purpose
To facilitate a service user-focused service to adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome in a well-established residential service on a relief basis. To support the manager and team leaders of a dynamic team to provide a high quality and person-centred service for all who attend.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote and actively involved in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the service user.
* Facilitate and implement a person-centered service appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of service users.
* Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene of service users and adhering to safe practice and risk assessments at all times.
* Assist service users in the taking of medication in line with policy and procedure.
Requirements
* Third-level graduate, Health & Social care or equivalent is desirable.
* Minimum requirement of Fetac level 5 in social care or related discipline.
* Attendance at training as deemed appropriate by the management of the service.
* Previous experience of working with people with a disability is desirable.
* An understanding of current regulations and safeguarding adults is required.
* Good communication skills and the ability to self-direct are also essential.
* A full clean driving license would be a distinct advantage.
