The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering functions at the Galway site. This role ensures compliance with global regulatory requirements including 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, RDC ANVISA 16/2013, MHLW MO 169, TG(MD)R Sch.3, MDR, and other applicable standards. The position oversees quality systems, drives continuous improvement, supports regulatory audits, and fosters a culture of quality excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering functions, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards.
2. Oversee product disposition through Material Review Boards and drive corrective/preventive actions.
3. Develop and maintain quality systems supporting design, production, testing, and regulatory compliance.
4. Ensure products meet specifications from raw materials to final release.
5. Monitor and report on departmental metrics, objectives, and team development.
6. Support and lead internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
7. Guide root cause investigations and resolution of quality issues.
8. Manage CAPA processes and statistical training for team members.
9. Collaborate with suppliers to enhance product quality and resolve issues.
10. Drive continuous improvement and a strong quality culture across the organization.
Your ideal background
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
2. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (preferred).
3. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification (preferred).
4. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a regulated industry, with at least 5 years in senior quality leadership roles within medical devices.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6. Project management and organizational planning.
7. Expertise in quality systems, technical standards, and regulatory compliance.
8. Proficient in statistical methodologies and tools.
9. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
10. Proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration.
11. High motivation, adaptability, and a strong sense of urgency.
12. Advanced computer and data analysis skills.
