The Role
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor to lead our technical and maintenance activities in support of production. The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating all technical and maintenance efforts in a safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly manner, ensuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to identify equipment issues and optimize reliability through data analysis and statistical methods.
* Apply effective preventative and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure resource deployment efficiency, including review and optimization of existing Preventative Maintenance Activities (PM Optimisation).
* Track and measure equipment and maintenance performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE, schedule attainment, labour utilisation, work order backlog, PM/calibration completion rates, spare usage, and costs control.
* Leverage new technologies, such as non-intrusive testing, predictive maintenance, and monitoring, to maximize uptime and detect early signs of equipment failure.
* SUPERVISE AND COORDINATE THE WORK OF EMPLOYEES, ASSIGN TASKS, PROVIDE TRAINING, AND RESOLVE ISSUES AS THEY ARISE, UP TO THE COUNSELING STAGE OF DISCIPLINARY PROCESS.
* ENSURE ADHERENCE TO ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT POLICY.
* RECRUIT AND SELECT TECHNICIANS FOR ASSIGNED DEPARTMENTS.
* CONDUCT PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING 121S, APPRAISALS, CONTRACT STAFF APPOINTMENTS, ETC.
* Maintain a safe and injury-free work environment for all employees.
* E nsure COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY LEGISLATION AND ADHERE TO SAFETY PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS.
* PARTNER WITH THE QUALITY DEPARTMENT TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH QUALITY STANDARDS.
* FOSTER A RIGHT FIRST TIME (RFT) CULTURE TO ENSURE PRODUCT QUALITY.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly qualified individual with the following skills and experience:
* ENGINEERING DEGREE (LEVEL 8) IN MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING OR RECOGNISED EQUIVALENT.
* MINIMUM 8+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN AN ENGINEERING/Maintenance LEADERSHIP ROLE, PREFERABLY WITHIN THE LIFE SCIENCE, MEDICAL DEVICE, AND/OR PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY.
* EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATION IN RELIABILITY ENGINEERING IS AN ADVANTAGE.
* TRADES QUALIFIED IS AN ADVANTAGE.
* ABILITY TO WORK EFFECTIVELY WITHIN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT.
* LEAD A HIGH-PERFORMING TECHNICAL GROUP.
* KEEN TO LEARN AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
* ANALYTICAL WITH EXPERIENCE IN LEAN SIX SIGMA METHODOLOGIES.
* FAMILIAR WITH GMP REQUIREMENTS WITHIN A REGULATED INDUSTRY.
* EFFECTIVE VERBAL, WRITTEN, AND INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
* SELF-MOTIVATED.
* STRONG ORGANISATIONAL, TIME MANAGEMENT, AND PLANNING ABILITY.
* COMPUTER LITERATE (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT ETC.).
