Job Title: Legal Secretary
Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented legal secretary to provide administrative support to our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and edit legal documents, including court papers, contracts, and wills.
* Assist solicitors with court appearances and meetings.
* Manage incoming calls and messages.
* Handle petty cash and maintain accurate records of expenses.
* Schedule appointments and meetings.
* Perform general administration tasks.
* Utilize our in-house database for data management.
* Coordinate court depositions, hearings, and other events.
* Filing documents with the court in a timely manner.
* Transcribe and proofread legal documents.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a paralegal or legal secretary.
* Strong knowledge of legal terminology and documents.
* Proficiency in litigation management software systems.
* Accurate typing speed of at least 50 wpm.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
* Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
About the Role:
This is an initial maternity leave position that will last for a minimum of 8 months. Salary is open to negotiation based on experience and qualifications.
