Due to Euroforest Ireland’s continued growth, we have a vacancy in the following role:
We are looking for a committed worker with a keen interest in forestry.
Forest Manager Responsibilities include:
1. Professional forest management
2. Recruitment of new forest owners to the services we provide
3. Supervision of harvesting and other forest operations
4. Organising both harvesting and daily transport activity
5. Felling Licence and forest road grant application review
6. Advising owners on best forest practice and maximising financial returns, particularly in relation to harvesting and managing semi mature plantations
7. Maintaining inventory and financial data on bespoke management systems
8. Reporting on progress at weekly team meetings
9. Marketing – servicing supply contracts to customers
10. Costing & pricing of harvesting & management operations
11. Maintaining industry standards on health and safety and environmental management
12. A strong appreciation of commercial forestry
13. Motivated and highly organised, agile and adaptable to change
14. An ability to work on own initiative
15. Excellent planning and project management abilities
16. Excellent interpersonal skills
17. Full driving licence
18. Excellent IT skills
19. Ability to exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
20. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
21. A recognised qualification in forestry at level 7/8 on the QQI Framework of qualifications or equivalent
22. A knowledge of all Forest Service forestry schemes
23. A knowledge of all paperwork associated with the Department for Landowners
24. A knowledge or experience of harvesting and marketing of timber
Remuneration
Salary commensurate with experience, plus phone, laptop and transport.
