Purpose of the Role:
The primary objective of this post is to provide care and support through a person-centred approach which meets the practical, physical, and emotional needs of residents with an Intellectual Disability/ABI/Autism.
1. To act as key worker for named Resident where appropriate.
2. Provide support to residents with their daily plan.
3. Support residents with their individual goals and education.
4. Assist residents with living skills (e.g., cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, family visits).
5. Part of the on-floor duty team and may be responsible for co-ordination of the shift and supervision of other staff.
6. Report to the person in charge and work collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in service delivery to residents.
Role Requirements:
• Candidates must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
• Knowledge of quality assurance practices and their application to service provision.
• Experience working in a residential, respite, or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability.
• Knowledge of Person Centred Planning.
• Knowledge of both clinical and human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
• Knowledge of National Disability Standards (HIQA).
