Senior IT Support Technician – Killarney Hotels Collection
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior IT Support Technician to join our team at Killarney Hotels Collection, supporting The Europe Hotel & Resort, The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens, and Ard na Sidhe Country House. This is a full-time permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly technical environment while contributing to the IT operations of three prestigious luxury properties.
Responsibilities
Assist the IT Manager in the day-to-day operations of the IT Department.
Provide training, support, and guidance to the IT support technician already in place.
Set up and configure PCs and users on the internal company IT system.
Install, configure, and support business-specific applications, including MICROS POS and Oracle Opera.
Install and troubleshoot interfacing between hotel applications to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Prepare and maintain SOP documentation for all aspects of the IT department’s operations.
Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot for printers, mobile devices, and other authorized peripheral equipment in all areas and departments.
Provide day-to-day hands-on technical support to all areas and departments.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and in-house application issues.
Manage desktop antivirus systems and server environments (WS2016 and upwards) for system integrity and functionality.
Diagnose, repair, and escalate server or software-related issues as needed.
Maintain and troubleshoot AV systems across the properties.
Provide first-line support for IT users and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
Key Requirements
A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in IT support, within the hospitality industry would be a plus.
A third-level IT qualification (minimum 2-year diploma) is essential, with a willingness to undertake further training.
Functional expertise in Windows 11 Pro, Firewalls, and Active Directory is essential, alongside server knowledge (WS2016 and upwards) and Veeam Backup experience.
Proven ability to install and troubleshoot interfacing between hotel applications, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
Previous experience working with Oracle Opera and MICROS POS interfacing is an advantage.
Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work interdepartmentally with a can-do, helpful, and positive attitude, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
Knowledge of and ability to maintain and troubleshoot AV systems is desirable.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends or overtime, as needed is required.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
A full clean driver’s license is required, with availability for travel between properties.
