Private Client Tax Manager

Butler Rose Public Practice are delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established and growing firm of accountants and Tax Advisors based in Portsmouth who are eager to appoint a highly experienced and qualified private client tax professional in the capacity of Manager.
The Role:
The firm are looking for an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to work within the firm’s Private Client team and help to manage affairs of the practice’s portfolio. You will liaise with colleagues across the firm and office locations who specialise in business tax, audit and accountancy and will report to the Directors and Partners.
This is a brand new role which can offer future progression as the team continues to expand.
Duties:
* Manage a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring excellent client service across compliance and advisory assignments.
* Significant involvement in managing all the related and complex aspects of the tax affairs of a variety of high-net-worth private clients, including non-UK domiciles, UK and offshore trusts.
* Act as the main point of contact for client queries, as well as preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates.
* Regular liaison with the HMRC and other third parties to ensure the smooth handling of clients’ tax affairs.
* An eye for detail and high levels of accuracy are required, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management and a pro-active approach.
* Provide guidance, training, and support to more junior colleagues.
Person Requirements:
* CTA qualified (or equivalent) would be preferable, with a strong knowledge and understanding of UK personal taxes.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Recent experience working in a similar UK based accountancy practice.
