Infrastructure Architect
Our clients Technology Architecture team requires an Architect to work on a number of projects to enhance or replace technologies. The contractor would be required to work with project teams to deliver designs and assist with the planning and execution of technology uplifts.
Location: Based with our client at Dublin 1 (Hybrid 50% onsite)
* It is a mandatory requirement, that you have the equivalent of 10 years in IT with at least 5 years in infrastructure and/or technology architecture.
* You should have a diploma/degree qualification.
Experience, Competencies & Skillsets
* Experience working with and managing IT Managed Services providers and outsourcing vendors to ensure delivery of solutions and services.
* Experience in the design and build of underlying, core, infrastructure solutions at an enterprise level.
* Understanding of infrastructure related technologies and architectures related to servers, load balancers, firewalls, storages, networks, datacentres, etc.
* Experience with Microsoft Applications and the underlying infrastructure designs required, e.g. SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange.
* Architecture experience in a similar business background (e.g. financial services, banking, etc.).
* Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
* Excellent presentation skills including confidence working at all business levels.
* Self-starter with the ability to show initiative and work without supervision.
* Experience in Cloud migration (not essential but desirable).
Key Deliverables
Carry out activities as noted under the oversight of internal project manager(s), stakeholders and line managers in the delivery of the following:
* Drive technology delivery with relevant resources to shape solution options, providing appropriate challenge to stakeholders and influencing decisions aligned with the project plans.
* Lead, or where relevant, co-ordinate with 3rd parties to deliver technology designs and develop supporting technical design documentation in line with the scope of the project and your expertise and in compliance with architectural strategies (vision and roadmap) and principles.
* Carry out due diligence in identifying the necessary solutions and adhering to our clients policies and standards in the areas of security, technology, infrastructure, service delivery and quality assurance in order to ensure business solutions bring real value to the organisation.
* Preparation of functional and non-functional requirements and prepare and evaluate IT requirements to ensure both functional and technical requirements are aligned.
* Build and maintain relationships with Technology team members, project stakeholders, key 3rd party suppliers and other Information Management and Technology Directorate (IMTD) relevant functions in order to influence decisions made in respect of approaches as required.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with vendor(s) so that they deliver strong performance in line with project, design and contractual commitments in order that the technical solutions and service(s) are delivered in a quality and timely manner.
* Ensure that any changes or releases of solutions and designs are made in alignment with the Change Management process to ensure the integrity of the key systems and environments.
* Work with Project Managers on developing key task input for project plans.
* Help identify opportunities for Service Enhancements and automation during projects and help implement them.
