Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist Location: Shannon, Co. Clare About the Role My client, a leading biotechnology company is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join their EHS Department. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional or a recent graduate in the EHS discipline to make a significant impact. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of an EHS management system across multiple departments at their facility in Shannon. Key Responsibilities Support the EHS Manager in maintaining and implementing a robust EHS management system, integrating platforms such as EcoOnline and Cardinus. Assist in identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring appropriate controls are in place. Investigate unplanned incidents, recommending corrective actions to improve safety and operational reliability. Design and deliver EHS training sessions for various departments. Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits from regulatory bodies like the HSA, EPA, and ISO certification organisations. Manage environmental aspects, including waste segregation and emissions control, ensuring compliance with environmental standards. What We're Looking For A recognised EHS qualification/certification (Level 7/8 Degree or NEBOSH Certificate). Recent graduates with an EHS background are welcome to apply. Experience in risk assessments relating to chemical, biological, ergonomic, or maintenance activities is desirable. Familiarity with ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards is a plus. Industry experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors is beneficial, but not essential.
