Overview
PepsiCo is on the lookout for a Maintenance Technician to join our global engineering function based in Cork.
Responsibilities
Position Purpose and Primary Accountabilities:
1. Timely and effective troubleshooting and repair of day-to-day equipment and systems issues.
2. Implementation and ongoing development of Total Productive Maintenance systems in conjunction with the Operations team.
3. Lead and manage all contractors for both ongoing maintenance requirements and engineering projects.
4. Operation, coordination, and management of Engineering Stores and the spares requirements.
5. Work with other staff in diagnosing causes of system, equipment, or material failures.
6. Collect and utilize data and reports on equipment and systems to generate improvement initiatives to better meet customer and user demands.
7. Support all teams in meeting the plants KPI targets.
8. Liaise with Operations teams in the planning of maintenance work and addressing equipment performance issues.
9. Provide technical support to project teams in order to ensure technically best practice solutions.
10. Carry out all work safely, cost-effectively, and to the highest GMP standards, while maintaining good relations with our suppliers, contractors, customers, and fellow employees.
11. Participate in Quality, Cost, and Service initiatives to drive performance improvement.
12. Continually learn and bring to the Food Flavours Plant the most applicable and appropriate technologies available.
13. Recommend process or system modifications. Assist in diagnosing and finding the answers to technical problems.
14. Make recommendations on contractors and adjudicate on performance.
15. Maximize equipment and plant availability through the root cause identification and subsequent elimination of problems/defects.
16. Implement ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness in both energy usage and plant/production equipment performance.
17. Reduction/Elimination of all sources of waste and customer complaints.
18. Leverage knowledge of engineering discipline to support Supply Chain related processes and build continuous improvements in equipment and systems throughout the plant.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Criteria:

5. Committed to GMP and HSE with a good understanding of business processes/drivers.
6. Familiarity and knowledge of PLC technology (In-Touch) and Process Control Systems – programming, debugging, and systems development.
7. Experience in spare part ordering and stock management.
8. Troubleshooting, debugging, repair, and maintenance knowledge with regard to all aspects of the control and operation of the Plant Utilities including Air Handling and RH Control typical for Clean Room Areas.
9. Automated powder process and filling equipment including ancillary equipment such as labeling, check-weighing, stretch-wrapping, etc.
Shift work may be a requirement as and when the business requires.
Other Skills:
1. Good IT skills - experience of SAP system is desirable.
2. Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is desirable.
