Post Summary: Working closely with the Senior Lecturer/Dean Undergraduate Studies, the Academic Secretary is responsible for leading the Trinity Teaching & Learning (TT&L) department within Trinity’s Academic Services Division (ASD); the provision of strategic and policy advice relating to academic affairs; and holds delegated responsibility for managing academic policy and quality with specific responsibilities regarding teaching and learning in College. The role is critical to advancing Trinity’s strategic vision of academic excellence, ensuring the implementation of Trinity’s teaching and learning strategy, maintaining, and enhancing the university’s academic standards and contributing to Trinity’s goal of delivering a world-class educational experience. The role is responsible for strategically and operationally refining services, policies, and processes to ensure cohesion and efficiencies across the units within the TT&L department, embedding change, and leading strategic learning initiatives. The Academic Secretary is a senior administrative position, with a primary reporting line to the Senior Lecturer and Dean of Undergraduate Studies (SL & DUS) and a secondary reporting line to the Executive Director, ASD in relation to professional conduct, strategic and operational matters. The role works closely on academic policy and education matters with the Dean of Graduate Studies, the Vice President for Global Engagement, the Dean of Students, Heads of professional and academic units, and student representatives.

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 2 Salary Scale (€106,789 - €142,765 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
