Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to deliver Building Management System (BMS) system design for complex projects in the pharmaceutical, food, mission critical, medtech, advanced manufacturing, and energy sectors.
Responsibilities
* The role will involve working independently with clients to understand project requirements and delivering the BMS system design to a specific standard for the BMS contractor to develop installation detail which will be monitored & witnessed for compliance with the design.
* Client interface management to understand project requirements and presentation of design at design stage gates.
* Design of control systems across various BMS platforms to develop required project documentation; BMS I/O lists, HVAC and Utility Sequence of Operations documents, Scope of Works, Functional Specifications, Hardware Specifications.
* Design BMS System Architecture & Topography.
* Instrumentation design, selection, and approval.
* Cross-discipline coordination and collaboration within the office and outside.
* BOD BMS Cost Estimates.
* BMS Contractor management. Review & comment on contractor site queries, technical submittals, and panel shop drawings/wiring diagrams for compliance against the design intent.
* Review and approval of panel FAT documents and SAT documents.
* Witness testing of panel FATs and site SATs when applicable.
* Attend project, staff, company, design review, ISO, and group meetings and actively participate in discussions.
* Able to effectively deal with issues arising throughout the daily cycle and develop solutions to ensure successful resolution.
* Working with, leading, and coaching younger engineers and co-workers.
* Ability to multitask on various projects and manage own projects and deliverables.
Qualifications
* Level 8 University Engineering degree (i.e. Mechanical, Building Services, Automation Engineering) with minimum five (5) years relevant experience or minimum five (5) year apprenticeship program or related College technical diploma with six or more years of relevant experience.
* Knowledge and strong background in BMS.
* Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, data centre, or health-related facility.
* Experience in a GMP manufacturing facility and Data Centres.
* Experience in a BMS redundancy design.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good understanding of current good manufacturing practices, 21 CFR Part 11, 210 and 211, and Annex 11.
* General knowledge of network configuration, computer hardware and software, including automation applications.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Vision, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization.
