VIAE Ltd is one of the leading Traffic Management contractors in Ireland and part of the Colas Group of companies. The company currently operates nationwide providing temporary traffic management services to public & private clients. Operations are based in 2 depots, Dublin and Mallow Co. Cork.
Overview:
We are currently seeking Traffic Management Operatives to join our company in the Cork & Munster area on a full-time basis.
Part-time or seasonal applicants may also be considered, pending suitability.
Responsibilities:
To carry out all aspects of temporary traffic management in a safe & efficient manner.
Main Activities:
Carrying out a wide range of works such as installing lane closure systems, traffic control, pedestrian management, controlling road closures & diversions & minor highway maintenance tasks.
Completing work records, digital paperwork and any other documentation required by company policies & procedures.
Observing and promoting all aspects of health and safety to the highest level.
Communicating with and assisting members of the public and colleagues when required.
Carrying out any other tasks appropriate to the role, as deemed necessary from time to time.
Skills, Experience and Training:
Essential
Full B or C Driving Licence
Solas Safepass
Manual Handling Desirable
Solas CSCS Signing Lighting Guarding (SLG, 3-day) or,
Health & Safety at Roadworks (1-day)
Experience of Traffic Management, particularly on urban & rural roads.
Competencies:
Flexibility/adaptability to cope with the variety of work associated with the role.
Willing to travel nationwide if & when required.
Flexible to working daytime, night-time or weekends from time to time.
Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team.
Good communication skills to liaise with various clients & contractors when required and to present a professional image to members of the public.
Ability to work effectively in a small or large team.
A significant amount of training specific to the role is provided and a willingness to learn and to develop in order to gain qualifications required to carry out the duties involved is essential.
