This role reports directly to the Regional Coordinator. You will work in a team that screens babies in their first few days of life, requiring a reliable individual with good communication skills and experience working with mothers and young babies.
Main Responsibilities:
* To promote a professional, welcoming, and caring environment that endorses a family-friendly approach to care.
* Communicate with parents about hearing screening, obtain parental consent, and provide information as needed.
* Carry out hearing screenings for new-born babies.
* Inform parents of the screen outcome according to Local & National Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) protocols.
* Record clinical and test data accurately and ensure timely transfer to the manager.
* Maintain patients' dignity, privacy, and individuality at all times, and keep confidential information secure.
* Stay aware of child protection issues and adhere to local procedures.
* Keep up-to-date knowledge of procedures and policies relevant to this post.
* Ensure equipment safety and security, reporting any issues to the Hearing Screening Operational and Regional Coordinator promptly.
* Participate in a rota to cover colleagues' sickness and annual leave when necessary.
* Be flexible when required.
Required Skills:
* Excellent Customer Service Skills.
* Proven record of working with people.
* Strong IT skills are essential for this role.
* Healthcare background is desirable.
