The Role:
To support its continuing growth, Novellus is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic investment professional to join the Lending team. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills and commercial acumen, with a good understanding of real estate markets. The role offers an immersion in credit analysis, management and execution, within a strong learning and development environment, while working daily with experienced investment professionals, including regular exposure to the CEO, and the Novellus Board and Credit Committee.
Responsibilities:
1. Performing detailed credit analysis, including but not limited to: financial modelling, valuations, sensitivity analysis, and risk/return assessments to support new investment recommendations.
2. Front-line responsibility for the lending management of new investments, including the analysis of trading performance, covenant compliance, and financial reporting.
3. Developing and communicating timely and thoughtful credit insights for existing and new investments, including the preparation of succinct credit memos.
4. Leading transaction execution, including managing third-party due diligence, coordinating the process, and handling negotiations and investment documentation.
5. Proactively managing and monitoring with our internal systems to ensure loans are contractually performing. Providing management with key information such as loan completions, repayments, and key covenant compliance.
Key Skills:
1. 5+ years professional experience at a 'Big 4' or equivalent advisory/financial services firm.
2. A demonstrable track record of operational controls, ideally spanning both credit and finance processes.
3. Expertise within Financial Services and/or Property Finance is a prerequisite.
4. A relevant understanding and experience of credit control, financial reconciliations, interest bearing loans, and loan management pre and post completion are prerequisites.
5. An excellent communicator - a person confident and able to connect and co-ordinate between different departments and seniority levels.
6. Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a fast paced work environment, with varying degrees of supervision.
7. Supporting the origination process by engaging with intermediaries to ensure market visibility of Novellus products and lending criteria.
8. A critical mindset, able to internally challenge and present value-added ideas and solutions.
