What is the opportunity This is a technically challenging role.
You will be part of a DevOps team which builds Bank of Ireland test environments for most major projects so that they are built consistently, integrated with BoI's CI/CD pipelines and use BoI's strategic set of dev/build/test/deploy strategic toolset: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins.
You will work with a DevOps team, to provision Test environments for BoI change projects in an automated fashion.
You will get the opportunity to work on many different, multi-tier architecture, enterprise applications including technologies like Websphere MQ, Broker, WAS, JBoss, Connect Direct, Sterling File Gateway, Tomcat etc.
on both on premises and on Cloud across multiple O/S platforms: RHEL, Windows, Solaris, AIX.
In this role you will: Develop and implement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain a robust DevOps framework that promotes continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
Infrastructure management: Design, build, and manage the infrastructure and configuration management systems required for efficient software development and deployment, including cloud platforms, servers, networks, and monitoring tools.
Continuous integration and deployment: Establish and maintain automated build, test, and deployment processes to ensure efficient and reliable software releases.
Collaboration and communication: Foster collaboration and effective communication between development, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
Monitoring and troubleshooting: Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues, optimize performance, and ensure system reliability and availability.
Security and compliance: Implement and maintain security measures and best practices throughout the development and deployment process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Automation and optimization: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, and implement tools and technologies to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and reduce manual efforts.
Documentation and knowledge sharing: Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper knowledge transfer.

Collaboration and communication: Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients.
Knowledge of agile methodologies: Familiarity with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience working in agile teams.

We are made up of 3 sub-teams: Tool Management, Data Management and Environment build teams.
We are a technical operational team and aim to automate our operations using DevSecOps methodologies wherever possible.
