An exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking and flexible Finance Team at Boliden Tara Mines. The Procurement Specialist will be pivotal in delivering materials and services that meet operational requirements in line with Boliden Tara Mines and Boliden Group policies and procedures.
Relationships:
Internal: Boliden Tara Management Team, operational department managers, stores and supply team, group procurement.
External: Suppliers, consultants, and service providers.
Purpose & Content:
The Procurement Specialist will work within the Finance team and be a strategic partner to various operational stakeholders. The role involves management of end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring all materials and services meet company standards in quality, cost, and delivery time. Tendering, evaluating, qualifying, and selecting suppliers while conducting robust negotiations is a core part of the role.
Tasks:
1. Be a strategic partner to the various operational stakeholders for all procurements.
2. Build and maintain positive and effective relationships, providing professional advice on procurement strategy and the application of relevant policies, guidelines, and legislation.
3. Understand the operational needs of the business in terms of purchase of materials, equipment, and services.
4. Evaluate suppliers, materials, draft scopes of work, negotiate contracts, and ensure that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.
5. Perform competitive tendering, efficient negotiation, and complementing purchases and contract awards.
6. Analyse spends on all equipment, materials, and services to identify areas for cost savings and better supplier performance.
7. Manage the approved supplier list and contracts register.
8. Input to quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
9. Participate in Group Procurement meetings with some travel to Sweden.
10. Report on site-related procurement activities, including sustainability of suppliers.
11. Execute other procurement-related activities as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Academic degree / third level qualification.
2. Minimum 5+ years in a similar role.
3. Experience of strategic sourcing, either from a role in procurement or from operations.
4. Experience of purchasing services and execution of large service agreements.
5. Strategic sourcing and negotiation skills.
6. Tools: Maximo and E-sourcing.
7. Computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Additional Info:
1. This role will be full-time, Mon – Fri from 8:00am – 4:30pm.
