Talentedge are happy to be working with a client in Co. Louth to find them a Qualified Accountant to join their growing team.
Role Requirements and Responsibilities:
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls, driving continuous improvements in reporting and financial processes. Assist in monitoring financial controls across the organization.
* Opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the finance team as the company expands.
* Prepare, review, and present monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements/forecasts, and key financial metrics.
* Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Manage revenue-related activities, including revenue recognition with appropriate supporting documentation.
* Provide weekly reports on working capital, covering cash flow, accrued revenue, and outstanding debtors.
* Oversee payroll, pensions, and associated responsibilities.
* Ensure tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including PAYE, VAT, corporate tax, and annual filings.
* Manage banking and treasury functions.
* Assist in preparing year-end schedules and supporting external audits.
* Work closely with the wider management team to provide financial insights and support.
* Contribute to ad-hoc finance and accounting projects as needed.
* Maintain and oversee the nominal ledger, including transaction audits, journal entries, and expense classifications.
* Conduct stock audits and maintain accurate stock reporting.
* Support the preparation of business plans for capital investments, grant applications, and funding proposals.
* Undertake other duties as required by management.
Candidate Requirements:
* Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (with most exams completed), with at least two years of experience in an accounts preparation environment.
* Strong technical accounting expertise, including knowledge of IFRS and relevant accounting regulations.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, challenge assumptions, and work effectively with financial systems.
* High level of attention to detail.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Strong proficiency in Excel.
* Good IT skills. Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software is advantageous but not essential.
