Our client is a leading Life Sciences company based in Cork and they currently have an exciting opportunity for a Process Safety EHS Engineer. This is a full time, permanent role. The EHS Process Safety Engineer will collaborate closely with the EHS Safety Manager and other technical managers/engineers to drive enhancements in the existing EHS management system and provide EHS support to dedicated sites in Cork.
Responsibilities:
* You will lead/interact with regulatory bodies on regulatory compliance programmes and future change requirements as required.
* The EHS Engineer will measure, monitor, and evaluate site Health and Safety performance, according to established programs and drive continuous improvement.
* You will be responsible for carrying out activities and programmes to ensure compliance with the site’s ISO 4500:1 management including local and Corporate EHS management programmes.
* Leading EHS assessment/approval of all process and equipment changes for the operation.
* Maintain relationships with the EHS team, Operational Area Managers, and Functional Managers to develop and implement EHS strategies.
* EHS Business partner for core operations.
* Seek out opportunities to continuously improve a proactive EHS operating culture.
* Leading Audits and Inspections, compile EHS metrics and KPIs data, trending for Corporate EHS and site Management.
Role Requirements:
* Minimum 7 years’ experience in an EHS position.
* Essential: Degree/Diploma in Process Safety and a recognized Degree/Diploma in H&S or suitable engineering/science discipline.
* Desirable: Experience in chemical management systems including Air Quality management programs.
* Experience in Life Science manufacturing or highly regulated environment.
* Strong experience in regulatory interactions on regulatory licensing applications and liaisons.
