Williamstown Community Childcare are currently recruiting an ECCE Room Leader based in Farronshoneen, Ardkeen Business Park, Waterford.
The Position is 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* The potential candidate is dynamic, trustworthy and enthusiastic. They have a strong work ethic and team spirit. They have the ability to take ownership of their position and duties as well as ensuring Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times. The ECCE Room Leader will assist the Assistant Childcare Manager in the daily duties, programs, observations and administration duties.
* To provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere which establishes feelings of trust, security and confidence, as well as a stimulating environment, adhering at all times to the guiding principles of Siolta and Aistear.
* To have an in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of Aistear, Siolta, & The Childcare Act (Early Years’ Service) Regulations 2016.
* To plan, design and implement a play-based child led and to ensure that activities in each session allow the children to experience creative, imaginative, physical, social and cognitive play within the Framework for Early Learning.
* To have excellent knowledge of child development and to record the progress of each child on a daily basis, keep up-to-date records of waiting lists, daily register and accident books.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Essential: Level 8 qualification in Early Childhood; Valid First Aid Certificate and Children’s First Training
* Minimum of one-year post-qualification experience as a Childcare Room Leader.
* The ability to take the lead and responsibility of the staff and children in the room.
* A candidate who has a positive, professional and pro-active approach to childcare and a child-friendly approach to all duties.
* The ability to work with enthusiasm, on own initiative and within a team. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with staff, parents, and children.
