Social Care Support Worker, Aylward Green
Location: Dublin
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The purpose of this role is to support individuals in Temporary Accommodation & Long Term Supported Accommodation.
What You Will Do
1. To work within the framework of the overall aims, objectives, and Values of Focus Ireland.
2. To implement the existing policies and procedures of the project and of Focus Ireland.
3. To provide and maintain an efficient and professional front of house service.
4. To provide an administrative service to the project which includes developing general office and financial systems to manage trade contacts, purchasing and payment transactions, petty cash, and stock control.
5. To control access and egress to and from the project.
6. To receive and record post.
7. To ensure spending and receipts are tracked appropriately for petty cash. Ensure the petty cash log is filled out daily and reconciliation statements are sent to accounts monthly, and petty cash returns are completed every month.
8. To adhere to Focus Ireland’s protocols in relation to governance of locked safe including safe keys.
9. To be familiar with information available in the reception area and with project diary, health & safety documents.
10. To promote communication and teamwork within the reception by attending staff/team meetings as appropriate and participating in staff development training.
11. To ensure stationary supplies, postage stamps, forms, and log-in sheets are available at reception.
12. To be familiar with emergency fire alarms, main fire panel, emergency exits and relevant procedures in the event of activating the alarm system. Ensure maintenance staff work orders are put on the Affinity system.
13. To report child protection concerns in line with Focus Ireland’s Child Protection Policy.
14. To maintain professional links with other agencies and services that may offer services to high needs families.
What You Will Need
1. Relevant third level qualification in social care i.e., community work, social studies, addiction.
2. Experience in the social care field working with disadvantaged families.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to work under pressure.
5. Excellent organisational skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft and Outlook.
6. Ability to work as part of a team, to use initiative and seek direction when appropriate.
7. Ability to multi-task and prioritise competing demands.
8. Maintain multiple relationships with consistency and a high degree of customer care.
