Meet the team
At its heart, RTÉ is a creative organisation, making and commissioning a broad range of high-quality content to serve multiple platforms and diverse audiences. With that in mind, RTÉ is seeking to recruit a Real-Time Artist within our Design Department.
Reporting to the Manager of Design, you will be an experienced and technical creative with an active interest in design, 3D, real-time software, and emerging trends.
About the role:
1. Create innovative design solutions for all on air graphics including touchscreen, AR, video wall, data driven and virtual studio graphics and manage output across all platforms.
2. To be proactive in creating and developing tools and workflows to better enable broadcast presentations and streamline production operations.
3. To work proactively with team members to assist in coordination and delivery of graphics as well as providing expertise related to integration between real time systems and other production systems.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with production teams. Anticipate their needs, suggest ideas, identify potential problems and provide suitable alternatives where appropriate.
5. To be responsible for the implementation (including training) of real time graphics solutions.
6. Maintenance of the real time graphics database including backups and archiving.
About you:
1. Experience working with the Vizrt platform and in-depth knowledge of Viz Artist (or an equivalent real-time solution).
2. Operational and Technical expertise with graphics in a live production or broadcast setting.
3. Familiarity with game engines; Unity or Unreal, Virtual Production and XR solutions, and associated 3D applications; Cinema 4D, Maya, or another 3D tool.
4. Software development experience with front-end web technologies; Javascript/HTML/CSS.
5. Advanced expertise with the Adobe Creative Suite.
6. Highly motivated, effectively prioritises within tight deadlines.
7. Highly collaborative with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
8. Desire to innovate and keep abreast of the latest design and technology developments.
The role may include, depending on assignments, the requirement to work as part of a scheduled team which may include long days, weekends and bank holidays.

This appointment is being offered on a Full Time Permanent basis. It will be made at the Viz Artist 2 grade, the salary scale for this grade is from €52,632 to €67,870 gross per annum.
