Senior Engineer – Wexford – Various Projects
Our client is a multi-disciplined main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake large turnkey projects for blue-chip clientele.
Their focus in Europe is on Data Centres and similar tech-focussed projects. In Ireland, they operate as a generalist main contractor working across various industry sectors including healthcare / hospitals, residential, education and industrial.
Due to a recent project win, our client is now seeking a Senior Engineer in Wexford.
Job Responsibilities
Design and Technical Leadership:
* Provide technical expertise and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) elements for the project.
* Oversight the preparation of design calculations, drawings, and specifications for structures, foundations, and building elements.
* Ensure that all CSA designs meet specific requirements of each project type—residential, commercial, or pharmaceutical—while adhering to local building codes and regulations.
Coordination and Integration:
* Work closely with other engineering disciplines (MEP, fire protection, HVAC, etc.), architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of CSA elements with the overall project design.
* C-coordinate structural modifications to accommodate cleanrooms or specialized facilities on pharmaceutical projects.
* Ensure that all CSA systems are integrated smoothly with other building systems to avoid conflicts during construction.
Site Supervision and Technical Support:
* Provide high-level oversight of the construction process, ensuring that CSA systems are being installed according to design and specification.
* Troubleshoot any technical challenges that arise during the construction phase.
* Provide guidance to junior engineers, site managers, and contractors.
* Evaluate structural elements against stringent regulatory and environmental standards on pharmaceutical projects.
Quality Control and Risk Management:
* Ensure that CSA work is carried out to the highest quality standards.
* Inspect materials and verify installation practices.
* Resolve any issues related to structural integrity or compliance.
* Prioritize quality control on pharmaceutical projects where contamination risks are higher.
Stakeholder and Client Engagement:
* Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and regulatory bodies.
* Provide technical reports and address client concerns regarding structural or design issues.
* Evaluate CSA elements against client needs for functionality and aesthetics.
* Assure compliance with regulatory standards such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or industry-specific codes on pharmaceutical projects.
Requirements:
* Relevant Third level Degree
* 6+ years' experience
* Previous Main Contractor experience
* Previous projects experience on building projects such as high rise, resi, commercial etc.
