We are currently recruiting qualified Social Care Workers to join our clients dedicated team and make a real difference in the lives of the people they support.

These services include day, residential, short breaks, community supports, rehabilitative training, and multi-disciplinary supports.

The Role The Social Care Worker will provide residential and respite care within a staff team for children and adults with intellectual disabilities attending our clients services, following all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Person in Charge in the absence of the Service Manager.
Work positively with individuals who present with behaviours that challenge and help implement specific support plans.
Support and teach individuals life skills, including self-care, domestic, community, leisure, and social skills.
Serve as a key worker for specific individuals, liaising with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Administer, supervise, and record prescribed medication.
Provide guidance to Care Assistants where necessary.
Promote social inclusion and facilitate interpersonal relationships.
Support individuals with personal care, housekeeping, and daily activities.
Encourage participation in leisure activities, with a focus on community integration.
Use person-first language in all communication.
Liaise with staff across services and ensure families and visitors are welcomed with consideration.
Undertake driving duties, using company vehicles or personal transport.
Work a shift rota over 7 days, including sleep-in duties and night shifts as required.
Maintain records and reports for the efficient running of the service.
Ensure safety procedures are implemented and adhered to.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with HIQA standards.

Essential Criteria A minimum Level 7 degree in Applied Social Studies or a relevant qualification.
CORU Registration (or in the process of registration).
Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or a similar field.
A full, clean driving licence with access to a vehicle.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
A motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic personality.
The ability to advocate for individuals in their care.
