Role Profile
A vacancy has arisen within Tirlán for the position of Site Services & Utilities manager, Ballyragget. The role will report to the Site Utilities & Environmental manager and will have responsibility across the Ballyragget site.
Responsibilities
* Daily management of Utility Plants including Water Treatment, Boilers, Waste Water Treatment plant, Refrigeration & Compressed air plants in accordance with the sites stringent EHS & Quality requirements.
* Monitor performance of utility and process plants for energy usage, identify trends and report out to relevant forums.
* Drive the implementation of the ISO 50001 energy standard across all energy users on the site.
* Work closely with operations to proactively control and reduce energy consumption together with the sites with carbon emissions.
* Improve sustainability in processing plants and ensure efficient use of energy is a daily priority for the full site.
* Work closely with the engineering team to ensure energy efficiency and sustainability is to the forefront in all project works and proposed project works on site.
* Work closely with the site engineering on all utilities CAPEX projects from project initiation through to installation and commissioning phase.
* Manage site service functions and facilities personnel to ensure site upkeep is maintained at an audit ready standard.
* Co-ordination of utility plant requirements with maintenance and engineering.
* Ensure utility plants meet required quality and HACCP requirements and assist in customer audits as required.
* Cost Control – Energy, chemicals etc. in the Utilities dept.
* Work closely with operations to control and reduce water usage in processing plants and ensure efficient use of water is a priority for the full site.
* Daily monitoring of Production plant losses – COD, fat and protein.
* Daily monitoring of plant environmental performance. Liaising with and reporting results to the Environmental Co-Ordinator and EPA in accordance with conditions of the sites IED license.
* Monitor and report on plant loss trends. Liaison with Production departments to control and reduce losses.
* Support and implement the Environmental and Energy Management Systems.
* Drive business excellence methodologies in Utilities and service areas.
Requirements
* 3rd level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
* 3+ years experience in utility management within a large scale manufacturing environment, preferably in the Dairy, Food, Beverage or Healthcare industries.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Work to best practice techniques such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma/Business Excellence and drive Continuous Improvement Projects.
* Motivated and self-driven.
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
* Proactive and innovative problem solver with good analytical and IT skills.
