Job Summary:
An Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Project Specialist is required to provide support to the fill finish operating facility in a biopharmaceutical company located in Athlone.
Responsibilities include monitoring environmental, health, security & safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and company standards. The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing staff operations and the EHS Team to promote safe manufacturing practices and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensuring compliance with environmental, health, security & safety programs and government regulations
* Collaborating with manufacturing staff and the EHS Team to promote safe practices and procedures
* Identifying and addressing site EHS issues and employee concerns
* Performing accident/incident management activities, including recordkeeping
* Implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
* Maintaining training programs for health, safety and the environment
* Reviewing and auditing Environmental, health and safety programs to ensure legal compliance
* Staying up-to-date on new EHS government regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in an EHS-related discipline, such as engineering, physical science, or biological science/chemistry, or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 2-4 years' professional experience in environment, health, and safety programs
* Desirable: Minimum of 2-4 years' relevant experience in an EPA regulated facility and in a cGMP environment
* Knowledge and understanding of environment, health, and safety permitting and regulations
* Knowledge and understanding of environment, health, and safety compliance reporting
* Skill in hazardous waste management or other professional EHS trainings or certifications
