Job Summary
The Discipline of Botany in the School of Natural Sciences at Trinity College, Ireland's leading university, seeks an Assistant Professor in Plant Conservation. This tenure-track position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and innovation in plant conservation and restoration ecology.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in areas such as plant conservation, biodiversity, plant restoration ecology, vegetation analysis, conservation horticulture, and environmental science.
* Pursue an excellent research record in field botany, plant conservation, and/or restoration ecology.
* Align research and teaching profile with the research mission of the School of Natural Sciences and Trinity College Botanic Garden.
Desirable Skills
* Interest in contributing to the future growth, curation, digitization, or horticultural management of living plant/seed bank collections at Trinity College Botanic Garden.
* Ability to take on an Assistant Curatorial role at Trinity College Botanic Garden if desired.
Requirements
* Excellent research record in field botany, plant conservation, and/or restoration ecology.
* Strong teaching profile in areas such as plant conservation, biodiversity, plant restoration ecology, vegetation analysis, conservation horticulture, and environmental science.
* Alignment of research and teaching profile with the research mission of the School of Natural Sciences and Trinity College Botanic Garden.
What We Offer
* Appointment will be made on the Assistant Professor (109BN) scale commensurate with qualifications/experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy [€41,500 to €99,550 per annum].
