About the Role
Murphy is recruiting three SHESQ Advisors for various projects in the Leinster area.
Duties of the SHESQ Advisor
* Assist in maintaining the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems to ensure continued compliance with OHSAS 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.
* Carry out inductions and produce monthly statistics.
* Champion Culture Development Programme (behaviour-based safety programme).
* Conduct and document site audits and inspections.
* Keep up-to-date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.
* Ensure personnel on site have the pre-requisite training records.
* Investigate, log and monitor incidents and non-conformances.
* Complete all necessary report forms.
* Identify significant safety impacts for work areas and help set up appropriate controls.
* Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available.
* Prepare and present toolbox talks as required.
* Prepare and present at monthly safety meetings.
* Review subcontractor documentation.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
* A relevant third-level qualification in health and safety.
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience on civil engineering/construction sites.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams.
* Good written and spoken communication abilities.
* Good IT skills with a high attention to detail.
* A flexible and proactive approach.
* Demonstrate leadership skills.
* Experience implementing and rolling out behaviour-based programmes.
* Experience working on heavy civil engineering projects (deep excavations, lifting, confined space, etc.).
