Senior Resident Engineer
Job Description
We are working with one of Ireland's leading design consultants to recruit an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to join a site-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the construction of the Narrow Water Bridge, providing a new crossing over the Newry River to the north of Carlingford Lough.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise all marine works for the STB, including cofferdams and reinforced concrete substructures.
* Oversee all civil and marine works for the construction of the road.
* Lead the erection and finishing of bridge deck superstructures.
* Commission the movable spans and associated infrastructure.
* Supervise earthworks, drainage, and utility diversions.
* Oversee the construction of foundations, substructures, and superstructures of bridge structures.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management (minimum Level 8).
* At least 7 years of experience in site-based construction of bridges, marine, or civil works.
* Experience as a resident engineer (or equivalent) on civil engineering projects.
* Familiarity with public works forms of contract.
* Fluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written English.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation.
This is a 36-month fixed-term contract with a competitive salary ranging from 80-90k depending on experience. Benefits include 25 days annual leave and a 3% PRSA employer contribution.
