Job Description
Turner & Townsend are seeking an Energy and Systems Engineer, to work with the Energy & Systems team, supporting various projects.
Responsibilities:
* Development of technical specifications and works requirements for mechanical, electrical and systems installations;
* Assessment of mechanical, electrical and systems tenders, including issuing of clarifications and responses;
* Coordinate and manage design development workshops with main works Contractors, specialist Subcontractors;
* Carry out complete reviews of Contractor drawings and specifications and issue reports cataloguing issues to be addressed;
* Attendance at Works Contractor (fortnightly) and M&E subcontractor (weekly) progress meetings on site;
* Prepare and issue a monthly progress report during design and construction phases, attend project meetings;
* Provide a site supervision and contract administration function to manage and supervise the mechanical, electrical and systems works on site;
* Attend weekly site meetings;
* Assess any claims from Contractors as required and advise the Employer’s Representative on determinations in respect of same;
* Monitor, and report monthly to Client’s Representative on any costs variations and project status;
* Advise on required inspection and testing of materials and plant supplied by Contractors and arrange for same;
* Review Main Works and Specialist Works contractor’s proposals;
* Arrange for Contractors to produce a full set of co-ordination drawings;
* Obtain for information purposes, copies of the equipment procurement status reports;
* Advise of potential variations and compensation savings;
* At appropriate stages, issue snag lists in respect of the electrical, mechanical and systems installations;
* Deliver to Client’s Representative on completion of the Works such records and manufacturer’s operation & maintenance manuals and as-built documentation as are reasonably necessary to enable the Client to operate and maintain the Works;
* Obtain from Contractors, all testing and commissioning reports required to verify the correct operation of the systems involved, having witnessed commissioning tests where appropriate;
* Review the test and commissioning reports and confirm that this work has been completed satisfactorily;
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree qualification in engineering, preferably electrical or building services related disciplines, from an accredited university or equivalent qualification;
* Proven track record of delivering projects of similar nature, scale and complexity;
* Proven track record of project and interface management in a complicated stakeholder environment;
* Minimum of five years progressive experience in delivering similar works;
* Proven track record of leading a team in technical and systems-based projects;
* Proven track record of technical management of complex systems projects, and also leading and managing the integration of telecommunications, signalling, power and auxiliary systems;
* Proven track record of creating technical specifications and requirements;
* Proven track record of attending site tests for electrical and/or building services related projects;
* Strong English language communication and report writing skills;
* Proven track record of technical management and evaluation of systems contract deliverables;
* Preparation of risk assessment documentation;
