Business Development Manager - Contract (West/Northwest)

Please note this role is to cover mat leave for a 9 - 12 month contract, covering counties in the West/Northwest of Ireland.
Role Purpose
1. Deliver and exceed agreed regional and territory sales, profit, and margin targets across the (delivered, collect, and online) Foodservice business.
2. Develop the territory by managing a prospect list to secure new customers.
3. Drive growth through expanding the range currently supplied to existing accounts.
4. Maintain all accounts within Musgrave MarketPlace agreed credit terms.
5. Manage all customer contracts within the territory, including managing pricing and range to maximize profitability.
6. Maintain Territory Management costs within allocated budgets, through good time management, resource management, and the most effective call pattern for each customer.
7. Ensure excellent customer service through friendly, accurate field communication and good administration practices.
8. Provide accurate and relevant information on competitor activity and other trade field information to the Regional Sales Manager.
9. Ensure the correct product mix in each account to maximize profitability.
10. Ensure full cooperation with the Territory Telesales Developer, Regional General Managers, Regional Foodservice Floor Managers, etc., to ensure maximum growth in your specific territory.
11. Complete all administration as required including Journey plans, Daily Sales Reports, Record Cards, and Prospect lists.
Education & Experience
1. Proven track record in proactive field sales and achieving targets.
2. Understanding of the foodservice customer.
3. Knowledge of margins, reports, and geography.
4. Experience/knowledge in the food industry or in direct foodservice sales (competitors, range, customers).
5. Professional selling skills.
6. Administration skills, planning, and time management skills.
7. Forward-thinking with the ability to work on own initiative.
8. Ability to change, adapt, and be flexible.
9. Full clean driving license.
10. Leaving Cert / GCSE.
