Electronic Engineer (1 x Senior / 1 x Intermediate) (Full Time)

Description
Responsibilities
1. Design and schematic capture of circuits for optical control, electromechanical control, optical readout and optical signal chain processing.
2. Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout of above designed circuits, including high speed RF layout.
3. Design of circuits to AS/EN9100 and relevant JEDEC standards, with specific reference to aerospace standards.
4. Creation and specification of power budgets for (sub)systems.
5. Development of (sub)systems from prototype to aerospace-qualified products.
6. Work closely with interdisciplinary mechanical and optical teams to design in mechanically and thermally constrained environments with strict optical requirements.
7. Design and modelling of analogue (optical) readout & signal processing circuits such as TIAs, DACs, etc.
8. Simulation of PCBs for high speed electro-optical transceivers.
9. Development of noise models and link budgets.
10. Test of designed circuits to validate performance.
11. Documentation and review of design, test & validation of (sub)system designs.
12. Design of test platforms for circuit testing.
Requirements
1. BE in Electronic Engineering or similar.
2. Considerable industry experience.
3. Experience with relevant PCB design software: Altium, EAGLE, KiCAD, PADs etc.
4. Knowledge of signal integrity, impedance matching and termination.
5. Experience with analogue circuit design and SPICE simulation.
6. Experience with typical electronic laboratory test equipment.
7. Design experience in a related aerospace, defence or automotive industry.
8. Experience with aerospace & radiation hard component selection, component derating etc.
9. PCB layout experience with high-speed/RF PCB layout.
10. Experience developing electrical power models and budgets, thermal modelling.
11. Experience developing noise models and link budgets.
12. Knowledge of aerospace electronic design standards e.g. AS/EN 9100, relevant JEDEC standards etc.
13. Experience with high speed PCB simulation in ADS or ANSYS HFSS.
14. Mechanical CAD experience (e.g. Fusion360).
