We are recruiting for an experienced knowledge lawyer to work principally with our Dispute ResolutionGroup.
The successful candidate will work closely with other knowledge lawyers throughout the Firm andwill report directly to the Head of the Firm's Knowledge Team.
To the extent consistent with a principalfocus on litigation and dispute resolution, the person appointed to this role may also work in other practiceareas as the Firm may require.
Key Responsibilities Developing, maintaining and updating the Firm's template documents and precedents (court-related and otherwise).
Monitoring on-going developments in law, regulation and practice relevant to the Firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice.
Delivering timely updates and briefings, and undertaking and facilitating training (including workshops, lectures and Law Society-accredited events) to trainees and other practitioners within the Group and within the wider Firm, and to clients, on law, practice and procedure and on relevant legal, practice, procedural and regulatory developments.
Contributing to, and supporting the management and development of, the Firm's overall knowledge resources.
Assisting practitioners in researching legal queries that arise and in formulating advice to clients in difficult or complex legal and regulatory matters.
Drafting notes and other material for Knowledge Hub, the Firm's online legal and regulatory current awareness service for practitioners within the Firm and for selected clients.
Preparing client briefings and other public-domain publications (such as articles and chapters for books and journals) on relevant topics, to help to maintain a strong market profile for the Firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice.
Leading and contributing to client presentations.
Working, as required, on specific knowledge projects related to legal resources, legal research, knowhow and legal education and training.
Your Skills The successful candidate will have:
a minimum of three years post-qualification experience with a particular focus on litigation or other forms of dispute resolution, ideally with a leading Irish or international law firm or in independent practice in the Law Library; strong proficiency in drafting legal materials; a strong technical and academic interest and ability in the highlighted areas; strong interpersonal and communications skills and a keen interest in developing the profile of knowledge services in the relevant practice areas; an ability to exercise sound judgement and decision-making with a proven ability to manage and complete projects; excellent organisational and prioritisation skills; a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; a strong interest in developing, maintaining and sharing (including through training) relevant legal and regulatory knowledge; a strongly positive attitude and will be a good team player; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all colleagues in the Firm and with clients; excellent problem-solving abilities; excellent time management skills, the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and to meet deadlines on an on-going basis; a high degree of discretion and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information; and a positive and proactive attitude, a willingness and ability to take ownership and responsibility for the completion of tasks and the ability to take and demonstrate initiative.
Education The successful candidate will:
have an excellent academic background; hold at least a 2.1 honours degree in any discipline; and be qualified as a solicitor or barrister in Ireland, Northern Ireland or England and Wales.
