Senior Process EngineerContract Duration/Type: PermanentLocation: KilkennyOverview of the role:A multi-disciplined Senior Engineer with particular focus on commissioning activities but who may also be involved in other aspects of VWI projects including but not limited to tendering, design, procurement, design co-ordination, supervision, project engineering, site installation, developing sales opportunities, and operational support.The main role of the Senior Process Engineer is to ensure that new installations are successfully commissioned and operations are optimised to provide the level of treatment required in line with the design requirements. The Process Engineer will form an integral part of the project team, interacting with other engineering disciplines, with direct responsibility for start-up and bringing online of treatment process units and systems. The Senior Process Engineer will also be responsible for the development of commissioning plans and coordinating commissioning activities.The role will have responsibility for ensuring that all work is carried out accurately within defined constraints, such as time and budget, and with due diligence. It is expected that the Senior Process Engineer will be self-sustaining, requiring minimal management. When working in design or project engineering you will report directly to the Process Commissioning Lead or appointed delegate.Duties of the Role include:Planning and coordination of commissioning activities including the preparation of commissioning plans in line with VWI and client requirementsCompletion of site commissioning and process unit start-up activitiesOptimisation of process units and operational set pointsCompletion of on-site lab analysis as required to complete commissioning activitiesCoordination of commissioning activities and site personnelCompletion of commissioning and process proving reports for client submissionReview of design documentation and provision of feedback throughout the design development processOrganising, planning and prioritising your own work, and that of resources delegated to youEffective supervision, guidance, training and mentoring of delegated resources and junior staff such as engineers, sub-contractors, site staffUnderstanding and ensuring compliance with Clients Specifications, User Requirement Specifications, Health and Safety Requirements, Company Quality requirements, Company Policy, legislation, design standards and good engineering practiceSupporting and assisting project managers, project engineering and direct involvement in site activitiesAct as a source of process knowledge to other areas of the business and provide technical assistance and direction to other areas as requiredEnsure all work is carried out in accordance with the Company's performance management system and the company's quality management system, health and safety rule, legislation and relevant environmental standardsUndertake duties of a general nature that may be required by your managerRequired skills for this role:Strong Process, Engineering and Technical Capability with attention to detailExpertise and knowledge of Water and Wastewater Treatment EngineeringStrong Problem-solving skillsNumerate and highly computer literateEffective Time Management and Communication skillsSelf-sustaining engineer with ability to effectively work as part of a teamCustomer FocusedDegree in Process Engineering or equivalent experience relevant to water and wastewater engineeringExperience in construction environment and applicable water and wastewater engineering projects10 years+ applicable experience within a similar roleHere at Veolia, we're proud to be known as an equal opportunities employer.
