Goatsbridge Trout Farm Ltd. is based in Jerpointabbey, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland and comprises two farms and a factory growing Rainbow Trout from fingerling to market size.
The position (Fish Farm Manager) will be outdoors solely and requires a motivated, hardworking individual with the ability to work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of fish welfare while producing a high-end product for the Irish and European markets. This is a working supervisor position that requires initiative to coordinate daily tasks.
This is a full-time position. Training can be supplied to the right candidate.
Salary is dependent on experience and capabilities.
Job Description
* Day-to-day husbandry of Rainbow Trout Oncorhynchus mykiss.
* Enforcement of high-quality control processes throughout all farm operations.
* Feed, fish, and stock management.
* Fish health management.
* Record keeping (stock records both on paper and electronically).
* Quality standards upkeep and audit preparation, including ASC and Global Gap implementation.
* Knowledge of fish farm machinery upkeep and operation.
* Site maintenance and upkeep.
* Maintenance skills in an outdoor setting.
* Ability to understand English required for safety purposes.
* Communicate and work as a team leader.
* Required for weekend cover on a rotation basis among colleagues.
* Night and alarm/out-of-hours cover on rotation between all staff.
* Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Essential Skills
* Proven fish farm or maintenance experience is required.
* Full driving license is required; trailer license is a plus but not required.
* Record keeping and organizational skills.
* Stock recording and knowledge of required paperwork needed to measure performance.
* Microsoft Office and computer skills.
* Ability to work with and lead a small team.
* Exemplary attendance.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as a team player.
* Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.
* Ability to communicate in English to adhere to safety standards.
