An exciting opportunity for a Product Development Manager to join a reputable state body in Dublin!
The Product Development Manager will be a key member of the Products, Strategy and Marketing Team and will be responsible for leading the development and enhancement of new and existing products, policy measures and initiatives as well as sourcing funding and counter-guarantees to support these, together with the management of key government stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identify required features and shape product offerings to address established market failures, primarily in the SME Credit market in Ireland, but also in other areas where SBCI may be well positioned to alleviate failures in the provision of credit.
2. Proactively engage with market participants to develop product strategies consistent with the SBCI strategic plan and government policy.
3. As part of the Products, Strategy and Marketing Team, take new product ideas from concept to implementation, working with the SBCI Lending, Risk and Governance and Operations Teams to seamlessly deliver products to frontline lenders. Collaborate with these teams around cost, price, design and delivery of new financial instruments.
4. Negotiate facilities, transactions and product structures with funders and guarantors.
5. Take responsibility for key relationships with government departments, providing a high level of customer service.
6. Ensure products and their delivery comply with regulatory standards including state aid rules.
7. Support the Head of Products, Strategy and Marketing in working with key stakeholders as they pertain to new products and policy measures.
8. Input to stakeholder research and consultation during product development process.
9. Respond to and provide input to ex-ante and ex-post analysis of products delivered by the SBCI.
Experience/Skills
1. Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience working in a relevant role in product/proposition development and/or corporate banking. Prior experience in investment and/or securitisation structuring and financial risk/price modelling would be beneficial.
2. Proven track record of managing complex product development projects and leading cross-functional teams.
3. Strong understanding of banking products and the business lending landscape.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and to influence at senior level.
5. Experience in managing relationships with government and public stakeholders would be beneficial.
6. Strong presentation and report writing skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively.
8. Experience of working with government and/or public institutions would be an advantage.
9. A high level of numeracy, financial acumen, analytical skills and attention to detail.
10. Proven track record of achievement and willingness to take initiative and responsibility.
11. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
